The DC Policy Update is focused on fiscal and financial policy developments in Washington DC. It is where the work of 20/20 Vision is posted. 20/20 Vision is an economic policy research and advocacy firm participating in the national economic policy making process. We work with legislators, academics, public interest groups, and progressive organizations via engagement in economic policy legislative and political projects with a principal focus on fiscal and financial policy.
Dana Chasin, Principal
Dana served as policy advisor to Hillary for America for fiscal and financial policy issues. He has previously worked for U.S. Senators Jon Tester and Tim Johnson covering these same issues.
Chasin was a Legislative and Policy Liaison for Americans for Financial Reform during the Dodd–Frank negotiations and a Senior Advisor in the Federal Fiscal Policy group at OMB Watch.
He has a professional background in law and banking, having served as an Associate in the Labor Department of Kaye, Scholer, Fierman, Hays & Handler, and as Vice President in the global project finance team at the international investment bank Société Générale.
Chasin holds a bachelor’s degree from Yale College, where he majored in Philosophy and Political Science, a Juris Doctor degree from Harvard Law School, and a Master of Public Administration degree from Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government.
Shannen Bazzi, Chief of Staff
Shannen Bazzi is chief of staff at 20/20 Vision. She recently finished two years as a teacher in Orlando, Florida working through Teach for America. She taught math to 7th graders at two different low-income schools during her tenure.
Shannen holds a bachelor’s degree in International Affairs and Economics from George Washington University. During her studies, she interned with the Wilson Center, a prominent think tank in DC, and the Borgen Project, a non-profit organization fighting against global poverty.
Michael Farquharson, Policy Assistant
Michael Farquharson is a Policy Assistant at 20/20 Vision. Michael’s experience includes time with the Global Business and Economics Program at the Atlantic Council, a prominent DC think tank. Like Shannen, Michael also interned at the Borgen Project, a non-profit fighting against global poverty, and has other experience working in finance and marketing roles in the private sector.
Michael holds a first-class bachelor’s degree, with honors, in International Relations and Economics from Loughborough University in the UK.
Caroline Nutter, Policy Assistant
Caroline Nutter is a Policy Assistant at 20/20 Vision. Caroline graduated from the college of William and Mary in May of 2018 with a degree in Global Ethics and Economics.
While at William and Mary, Caroline worked for the Wilson Center, the Institute of International Relations, and Planned Parenthood Virginia.
Kristen Schnell, Special Assistant
Kristen Schnell is the Administrative Assistant at 20/20 Vision. She graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in 2018, earning a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and German.
During her time at UCLA, Kristen interned for a number of nonprofits and members of Congress, such as the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, Congressman Brad Sherman, and Senator Dianne Feinstein.
Zachary Schultz, Policy Assistant
Zach Schultz is a Policy Assistant at 20/20 Vision. Prior to joining 20/20 Vision, Zach interned in the Senate for his home state Senator Tammy Baldwin, and in the House for his home district Congressman Mark Pocan.
Zach is a graduate of University of Wisconsin-Madison with a degree in Political Science. While at school, Zach worked on several campaigns including Russ Feingold for Senate and some local races.
